Rogier Landman, PhD
Data Science Project Manager
Rogier Landman, Ph.D., is a Data Science Project Manager at SFL Scientific, bringing over a decade of technical experience as a Group Leader and Research Scientist in neuroscience and psychology. Rogier leads client engagements, working to create maximally useful data science solutions in healthcare, life sciences, and federal industries. He is passionate about using technology to help businesses thrive and improve people’s lives, helping guide experimental design, data analysis, and program management efforts to yield operational solutions.
Prior to joining SFL Scientific, he led research efforts in transgenic animal models of human mental disorders at the Broad Institute and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), utilizing large-scale quantitative analysis methods for multi-modal data types. This includes translational research by utilizing modern methods, including designing deep neural network algorithms for automated animal vocalization detection and classification and performing statistical modeling of vocal interactions and movement in animals to predict social interactions across development. During his time at the Broad Institute, Rogier helped with the experiment design, data collection, and data analysis, including developing an automated audio/video behavior monitoring architecture for large-scale quantitative analysis in collaboration with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
Rogier earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience on the role of the visual cortex in attention and memory at the University of Amsterdam. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH).
